HOW TO WASH YOUR BEDDING IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY:
You've worked a full day, you're tired and you're about to crawl into your freshly washed bedding, it's a great feeling! But how do you keep that nice feeling for as long as possible? Can I do anything to reduce thelifespan of my bedding ? These are the constant questions that we will try to answer in the best possible way.
Reduce fabric softeners:
There are a lot of chemicals in fabric softeners that are difficult to break down, destroying the fibers of the textiles and causing a lot of environmental damage. By eliminating the use of fabric softeners, you are contributing to a better environment, extending the life of textiles and avoiding exposure to harmful chemicals for yourself and your family.
Do I need to wash my bedding before using it?
All our bedding is labeled with a certificate called OEKO-TEX100. This certificate means that they are completely free of chemicals and do not need to be washed for that reason. This is, of course, up to you who will use your bedding. But there is something special about the luxuriously freshly washed feeling. You can also remove the folds from the packaging with one wash. So it's completely optional whether you want to wash your bedding beforehand or not.
Choose the right temperature:
Washing too hot can be just as bad, or even worse, than washing too cold. This is why many people get nervous when buying new bedding. What degree should I use? It used to be said that bedding had to be washed at 90 degrees to be truly clean, but this is a myth.
60 degrees is an appropriate temperature to wash your bedding, as it is high enough to remove mites, dust, sweat, saliva and other unpleasantness while avoiding wear and tear on your bedding .
Wash your bedding separately:
Do you usually wash your bedding with towels and clothes? Don't do that! Many people make the mistake of washing bedding together with other materials. This creates friction that shortens the life of your bedding.
Take care of the laundry as soon as possible:
Is the bedding ready in the washing machine? Make sure to remove your bedding as soon as possible to avoid the risk of moldy smell, fungus and creases in your bedding. Is the sun out? Hang-dry your bedding outside and fall asleep to the fresh summer air.
